Dr. Brannon has served as dean of the School of Agriculture at Murray State University for a remarkable 35 years and Congressman Comer highlighted how Dr. Brannon\u2019s dedication to the school community has molded a generation of new agricultural leaders in Kentucky.\n\nBelow are his remarks as prepared:\n\nMadam Speaker,\n\nI rise to recognize Dr. Tony Brannon on his well-deserved retirement.\n\nDr. Brannon grew up on a small family farm and at an early age, began to participate in Future Farmers of America events. His dedication to the FFA program and agricultural community would only grow.\n\nHe completed a bachelor\u2019s degree in agricultural education from Murray State in 1981, a master\u2019s degree in 1982, and a Ph.D. at Oklahoma State University in 1988.\n\nDr. Brannon\u2019s heart never left Murray State, though. Legend has it that he even wrote in soap on his bathroom mirror \u201cMSU\u201d as a reminder of his goal to come back.\n\nHe returned to Murray State as a faculty member in agricultural education and mechanization. In 2005, he was named the dean of the School of Agriculture.
