During their time in the nation\u2019s capital, Allie, Colin, and Ella answered constituent inquiries from Kentucky\u2019s First Congressional District, researched legislative issues, coordinated tours, and provided general office assistance.\n\n.\n\n\u201cAllie, Colin, and Ella became indispensable in my Washington office this summer, and I want to thank them for their dedicated service to Kentucky\u2019s First Congressional District. Their work was crucial to helping me and my staff, as well as assisting so many Kentuckians who call our office seeking help from the federal government. This talented trio has a bright future ahead of them, and I look forward to seeing each of their endeavors and achievements,\u201d said Congressman Comer.\n\n.\n\nAllie Fort, a Christian County native, is pursuing her undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky, where she is a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority and the Lewis Honors College.\n\n.\n\n.\n\n\u201cI loved hearing about the range of work needed in a Congressional office and hearing about issues in the 1stCongressional District that I would not have known without the internship. It was cool to see that everyone mattered, and all positions work to help keep the government functioning,\u201d said Ms. Fort.\n\n.\n\nColin Harris, a Taylor County native, is pursuing his undergraduate degree from Campbellsville University, where he is actively involved in his Theater Troupe and the Archery team.\n\n.\n\n.\n\n\u201cI am thankful for this internship being one of my first government setting experiences, and it has been so helpful in preparing for my Masters,\u201d said Mr. Harris.\n\n.\n\nElla Lester, a Christian County native, is pursuing her undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama, where she is a member of the Chi Omega Sorority and UA Honors Program.\n\n.\n\n.\n\n\u201cI am very thankful for the opportunity to have learned more about the functions of the Legislative Branch. I gained many new connections that will help me in my future education and career,\u201d said Ms. Lester.\n\n.\n\nIn Congressman Comer\u2019s Washington, DC office, internships run throughout the fall, spring, or summer semesters for college students.
