While in their roles, Chase and Colson learned about city and county government operations, met and spoke with 1st Congressional District constituents, and assisted Congressman Comer\u2019s Field Representatives to ensure local issues were addressed.\n\n.\n\n\u201cIn my Paducah Office, Chase and Colson were a great addition to my team, and I want to thank them for their service to the 1st Congressional District. Their work this summer was critical in helping me and my staff address concerns from constituents across Western Kentucky. These two Murray State students have a bright future ahead of them and I wish them the best as they pursue their goals,\u201d Congressman Comer said.\n\n.\n\nChase Hendricks, a Christian County native, is a junior pursuing his degree in Psychology from Murray State University.\n\n\u201cMy internship with Congressman Comer has allowed me to listen to concerns of constituents in the 1st Congressional District and see the efforts in how Congressman Comer is able to understand constituents\u2019 visions and needs,\u201d Hendricks said.\n\n.\n\nColson Thomas, a Trigg County native, is a junior pursuing his degree in Political Science and Pre-Law from Murray State University.\n\n.\n\n.\n\n\u201cThis internship has helped me understand how local, state, and federal government work together to improve the lives of Kentucky\u2019s 1st Congressional District,\u201d Thomas said.\n\n.\n\nIn Congressman Comer\u2019s District offices, interns may be asked to do a variety of things, including day-to-day office work such as answering phones, writing letters and assisting with media clips.
