Cooper said. \u201cIt\u2019s a small step and we need to continue fixing the Affordable Care Act.\u201d\nDrafted with Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), Sen. Alexander\u2019s bipartisan bill would fund key insurance subsidies for low-income Americans, according to CBO. Additionally, CBO said, the bill would keep Americans covered.\nPresident Trump recently said he would attempt to cancel the subsidies, but he has also expressed openness to Sen. Alexander\u2019s proposal.\nNearly 60 percent of all marketplace enrollees in Tennessee \u2013 118,901 people \u2013 benefit from the subsidies.
