Abolishing the Department of Education will set America\u2019s schools back, is not supported by the American people, and as seen in today\u2019s announcement, will actively disrupt federal programs that connect students to the life skills they need to succeed. The Department was created by an act of Congress in 1979, and it will take an act of Congress to abolish it.
