Angie Craig\u2019s bipartisan bill to expand access to overdose prevention resources.\n\nRep. Craig\u2019s bipartisan RECONNECTIONS Act of 2023 will direct the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to expand their overdose prevention efforts \u2013 like bolstering prescription drug monitoring programs, promoting and evaluating community and health system interventions and conducting research on controlled substance overdoses.\n\nThe bill also categorizes the fentanyl crisis as a \u201cnew and emerging public health crisis.\u201d\n\n\u201cThis is a common-sense bipartisan bill that will help address one of the most urgent issues facing our nation. I urge my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to support my bill on the House Floor,\u201d said Rep. Craig.\n\nRep. Craig has been a leader in the fight to combat the opioid crisis, expand resources for law enforcement and improve addiction and recovery support in Congress.\n\nLast week, Rep. Craig introduced the bipartisan Kid PROOF Actto expand access to lethal means safety supplies \u2013 like lockboxes and safes \u2013 for parents of children at risk of overdose or suicide.\n\nEarlier this year, Rep.
