Summer Lee (D-PA) to officially codify the right to vote.\n\nThe Right to Vote Act would protect American citizens\u2019 fundamental right to vote by establishing a first-ever statutory right to vote in federal elections \u2013 protecting U.S. citizens from laws that make it harder to cast a ballot. The bill would allow Americans to legally challenge any policy that illegally restricts ballot access and would require states attempting to restrict voting access to meet a high bar to justify any policy that makes it harder for U.S. citizens to participate in federal elections.\n\n\u201cPresident Trump has made it clear that if his party can\u2019t win elections, they will steal them,\" said Rep. Craig. \u201cWe can't take any chances with this administration and that\u2019s why it\u2019s so important that we codify the right to vote once and for all. Craig announced her pro-democracy agenda to combat the Trump Administration\u2019s attacks on democracy and safeguard our nation\u2019s elections for years to come.
