Craig\u2019s bipartisan RAPID Reserve Act would encourage the domestic production of critical medications and incentivize American-based manufacturers to increase their reserves of these medications to prepare for future public health threats and supply chain challenges.\n\n\u201cManufacturing critical medications and pharmaceutical ingredients here in America will strengthen our domestic supply chains, create good-paying jobs and most importantly, get life-saving medications into the hands of those who need them,\u201d said Rep. Craig. \u201cManufacturing medications here at home instead of other countries like China is a no-brainer \u2013 and that\u2019s why I\u2019m teaming up with Reps. Spanberger and Van Drew on this bipartisan effort.\u201d\n\n\u201cAmericans should not have to rely on foreign adversaries for key medications or pharmaceutical ingredients \u2014 especially when homegrown manufacturers operate across our Commonwealth and our country,\u201d said Rep. Spanberger. \u201cWith drug shortages on the rise, the United States\u2019 reliance on the Chinese Communist Party poses both national security and health threats \u2014 as we saw during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.
