Veronica Escobar (D-TX) and Maria Elvira Salazar (R-FL).\n\n\u201cAmerica is a country of immigrants, yet for too long, our broken immigration system has made it too hard for folks who come to this country looking for a better life to stay here,\u201d said Rep. Craig. \u201cIt\u2019s time to create a humane immigration system that actually works and provide a pathway to legal status for those who work, pay taxes and contribute to our economy. I\u2019m proud to support this critical bill, which makes meaningful reforms to our immigration system without compromising our communities\u2019 safety and security. It\u2019s a win-win\u201d\n\nRep. Craig has always advocated for a legal pathway to citizenship for our nation\u2019s Dreamers and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients. She has repeatedly cosponsored the bipartisan American Dream and Promise Act, which would provide a pathway to citizenship to Dreamers, recipients of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) beneficiaries. She is also a cosponsor of the America\u2019s Children Act, which would provide a pathway to legal permanent residency for individuals who were brought to the U.S.as children and have since graduated from an institution of higher education.\n\nRep.
