While freedom-loving citizens across the country know that socialism is the first step to communism, and that every communist regime has brought only oppression, murder and starvation, the highest levels of Democrat leadership refuse to denounce DSA for fear of political retribution among their ranks.\n\nThis resolution condemns socialism in all its form, as well as highlights the un-American tenets that DSA aspires to, including allowing noncitizens and incarcerated criminals to vote in American elections. It also reaffirms support for free, fair, and secure elections and the principle that American elections should be decided by American citizens.\n\n\"Socialism is fundamentally at odds with our values as Americans,\" said Rep. Crank. \"American citizens being able to securely cast their votes at the ballot box is a right that the Democratic Socialists of America are actively working to undermine. I urge swift consideration of my resolution before the full U.S. House of Representatives, which will show the American people whether their elected officials stand for freedom or for socialism.\"\n\nThe House previously acted to strengthen election integrity by passing the SAVE America Act, legislation designed to ensure that only eligible citizens participate in federal elections. Additionally, last year, the House passed a resolution condemning socialism as a failed ideology. Rep.
