The winning artwork will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol, and the artist will be recognized at a ceremony in Washington D.C.\n\n\u201cOur community is home to many talented young artists, and it has been an honor to showcase their talent on a national level through the Congressional Art Competition,\u201d said Davids. \u201cI once again encourage all high school-aged artists in Kansas\u2019 Third District to take part in this competition and share their skills. I look forward to seeing this year\u2019s submissions and walking past one in the U.S. Capitol later this year.\u201d\n\nDavids\u2019 team will be accepting art submissions on April 18, 2024 between 8 a.m. \u2013 5 p.m. CT at their Overland Park District Office. While Kansas-themed artwork is encouraged, all original artwork that meets the guidelines is welcome. The winning piece of art will be announced publicly in the coming months.\n\nThe Congressional Art Competition began in 1982 to provide an opportunity for Members of Congress to encourage and recognize the artistic talents of their constituents.
