The budget includes funding for 15 community projects in Berks and Montgomery Counties that Congresswoman Dean advocated for and three bills that she introduced.\n\n\u201cOur budget reflect our values \u2014 and I\u2019m thrilled this year\u2019s budget included funding and legislation that will make a tangible difference in our communities,\u201d Rep. This year, Congresswoman Dean has secured more than $13 million for the following projects:\n\n$1.2 Million: Apprentice Training for the Electrical Industry\n\n$500K: Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Norristown Renovation Expansion\n\n$450K: Community Hero Action Group\n\n$2.5 Million: Cross County Trail (CCT) Bridge Trail\n\n$1 Million: Habitat for Humanity Montgomery and Delaware Counties Hatfield II Project\n\n$3 Million: Pottstown Keystone Boulevard Extension Project\n\n$1.2 Million: Manor College\u2019s Refugee, Immigrant, and First-Generation Student Support\n\n$300K: Mitzvah Circle Foundation\n\n$100K: Montgomery County Community College\n\n$210K: MossRehab-Albert Einstein Healthcare Network\u2019s Institute for Brain Health\n\n$1 Million: Temple Ambler Community Kitchen (TACK)\n\n$443K: The Racial Justice Improvement Project (RJIP)\n\n$226K: The Welcome Project PA \u2014 SAGA Community Center\n\n$332K: Today is a Good Day\n\n$220K: Whitpain Township's Amber Alley Storm Sewer Project\n\nMore details on the community projects can be found here.\n\nLegislation\n\nThe FY23 budget also included three bills introduced by Congresswoman Dean:\n\nThe Public and Federally Assisted Housing Fire Safety Act requires hardwired or tamper-resistant battery-powered smoke alarms in federally assisted housing.\n\nThe Improving Access to Care and Treatment (IMPACT) Act increases the amount of time a physician may hold long-acting injectable (LAI) buprenorphine \u2014 a form of medication for Opioid Use Disorder \u2014 from a specialty pharmacy, reducing a barrier to this innovative treatment method.\n\nThe Valley Forge Park Realignment Permit and Promise Act allows the Secretary of the Interior to permit the safe movement of a natural gas pipeline segment in Valley Forge National Historical Park from under its current roadbed to a new one.\n\nTo learn more about the FY23 budget, visit the House Committee on Appropriations.\n\nRep.
