Arts and humanities funding helps to bring the beauty and creative genius of our culture to the lives of all Americans  young and old, rich and poor, urban and rural. The fact that we as a society are willing to support such work is, to me, a measure of our civilization.\nWe have strong and vibrant arts and humanities communities and these grants are a testament to all of their good work, continued DeLauro. I am proud to announce these awards and extend my sincere congratulations to all of those who make these programs, projects, and performances possible.  \n\t\nNational Endowment of the Arts awards include:\nWesleyan University, Middletown - $25,000\nTo support the publication and promotion of books of poetry.\n\nArtspace, Inc., New Haven - $25,000\nTo support the exhibition \"Artspace: Three Decades of Change\" and accompanying public programming.\n\nConnecticut Players Foundation, Inc., New Haven - $10,000\nTo support the premiere of \"Lewiston\" by Samuel D.
