{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["https://duffy.house.gov/media-center/enewsletters/you-want-answers", "You want answers?", "2015-11-15", "2015", "2015-11", "Republican", "House", "WI", "Sean Duffy", "D000614", "duffy.house.gov", null, null, "legacy", "Dear friends,\nThe latest scandal to plague the Tomah VA has left us, once again, demanding answers from the Department of Veterans Affairs and Tomah officials.\nA recentKARE 11 news investigationfound that VA hospitals in Wisconsin and Minnesota had provided misleading information about the qualifications and certifications of some of their doctors. The Veterans Health Administration has repeatedly posted inaccurate and misleading information on its website concerning the competency and ability of its doctors to provide veterans with the care they deserve. It is troubling to think that the men and women who wore the uniform of the United States Armed Forces would be treated by doctors who should not be wearing a lab coat.\nI have asked the acting director of the Tomah VA to respond to seven specific inquiries:\n1) When did the VA find out about the misinformation on its website?\n2) What actions were taken when the VA was made aware of this and when were those actions taken?\n3) Have patients been notified about their physicians license denials, or inaccurate information regarding their certifications?\n4) Was patient care impacted because of a physicians license denial or lack of updated certification?\n5) Has there been a review of other current health care providers and their licenses and certifications?\n6) What is current practice to ensure that all health care providers are up to date with license and certification?\n7) Were any doctors inaccurately listed as licensed or certified on the VAs website compensated at an amount based on the inaccurate information listed?\nRead the full text of the letterhere.\nIn other news:\nOur third annual Hunger & Homelessness summit was a great success. It was our largest summit to date and included compelling panels on Veterans homelessness and the tragic opioid situation currently plaguing far too many of our neighbors. Of course, we were also very glad to have Secretary for Housing and Urban Development Julian Castro join our discussions and hear first hand from those on the front lines combatting rural poverty. It was a privilege to award him his long-overdue Purple Heart medal and give him the homecoming he had never received. Click on the image below for more on Mr. Zondlos story:\n\n\nOne more thing:This week I was proud to cosponsor theRefugee Resettlement Oversight and Security Actwhich will address gaps in the security screening process of refugees and prioritize the admission of persecuted religious minorities from Iraq and Syria, such as Yazidi Christian women who face persecution from ISIS. This is an issue that many of you have brought to my attention, and Congress is doing all it can to address it.\nIt was great to catch-up with many of you this week in Wisconsin.
