Johnson introduced South Dakota State Senator and Majority Whip Helene Duhamel as the witness for his bill. More than 8,000 bills are introduced each Congress, and only a few hundred receive a committee hearing.\n\nMount Rushmore has been the target of calls from activist groups, companies, and Hollywood elites to remove or rename the monument.
