The bill includes provisions to strengthen deterrence against China, prohibit men from competing in women\u2019s sports at military academies, and robust funding for B-21 aircraft procurement.\n\n\u201cAmerica\u2019s military should be the strongest, most prepared fighting force in the world. This defense package makes sure our servicemembers have what they need, when they need it,\u201d said Johnson. \u201cThe defense package prioritizes made-in-America equipment by providing funding for Ellsworth\u2019s B-21 Raider and ensures our military will deliver peace through strength.\u201d\n\nJohnson priorities included in the 2026 NDAA:\n\nProvides $3.45 billion for B-21 aircraft procurement.\n\nProvides $378 million for military construction for Ellsworth Air Force Base.\n\nProvides $28 million for the Watertown Complex\u2019s National Guard Vehicle Maintenance Shop.\n\nJohnson\u2019s priority to prohibit biological men from competing in women\u2019s sports at military service academies.\n\nJohnson\u2019s provision to strengthen deterrence against China by supporting defense industrial cooperation with U.S. allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.\n\nAuthorizes $35 million in Impact Aid assistance.\n\nRaises servicemember pay by 3.8% and improves benefits for military families.\n\nFights drug trafficking.\n\nEnds $115 million of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs at the Department of Defense (DoD).\n\nProhibits funding for the teaching, training, or promotion of Critical Race Theory in the military, including at service academies and DoD schools.\n\nCuts more than $1 billion of Green New Deal programs at the DoD.\n\nProvides $20 billion in savings.", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-06T19:10:29Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://dustyjohnson.house.gov/media/press-releases/johnson-priorities-included-peace-through-strength-annual-defense-bill"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 2.0390418358147144, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
