The bill includes provisions to strengthen deterrence against China, prohibit men from competing in women\u2019s sports at military academies, and robust funding for B-21 aircraft procurement. Johnson voted to pass the legislation.\n\n\u201cThis defense package ensures America\u2019s military remains the strongest in the world. It keeps our military men and women focused on military readiness and ensuring peace through strength,\u201d said Johnson. \u201cI\u2019m grateful for its investment in South Dakota and the B-21, which will be an incredible addition to our fighting force.\u201d\n\nJohnson priorities included in the 2026 NDAA:\n\nProvides $3.45 billion for B-21 aircraft procurement.\n\nProvides $378 million for military construction for Ellsworth Air Force Base.\n\nProvides $28 million for the Watertown Complex\u2019s National Guard Vehicle Maintenance Shop.\n\nJohnson\u2019s bill to prohibit biological men from competing in women\u2019s sports at military service academies.\n\nJohnson\u2019s provision to strengthen deterrence against China by supporting defense industrial cooperation with U.S. allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.\n\nAuthorizes $50 million in Impact Aid assistance.\n\nRaises servicemember pay by 3.8% and improves benefits for military families.\n\nFights drug trafficking.\n\nEnds $40.5 million of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs at the Department of Defense (DoD).\n\nProhibits funding for the teaching, training, or promotion of Critical Race Theory in the military, including at service academies and DoD schools.\n\nCuts more than $1 billion of Green New Deal programs at the DoD.\n\nProvides nearly $20 billion in savings.", 1, "2026-04-04T05:28:40Z", "2026-04-04T05:30:10Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://dustyjohnson.house.gov/media/press-releases/johnsons-south-dakota-womens-sports-tough-china-priorities-included-annual"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.3834468554705381, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
