The first Resource Fair was held in Howard County this past May and featured representatives from 19 agencies. Elfreth and her team were joined by 26 federal, state, local, business, and nonprofit partners, covering a range of services from workforce development to health care, veterans affairs, and more.\n\n\u201cFirst and foremost, my team and I are here to help our neighbors with any issue they face at any level of government, and these resource fairs are just one way we can connect them to the services they need. From our first resource fair to the thousands of cases that my team handles day in and day out \u2013 the need for community services and support is clear, especially as we grapple with the aftermath of DOGE, the weaponization of ICE, skyrocketing costs, and so much more,\u201d said Congresswoman Sarah Elfreth. \u201cI want to extend a sincere thank you to all of our partners who joined us and for their continued commitment to serving our community on their hardest days. This work is never done alone.\u201d\n\nElfreth and her team have also provided casework assistance to constituents on a range of issues with federal agencies, including the Department of Veterans Affairs, Social Security, immigration agencies, and the IRS. To date, Congresswoman Elfreth\u2019s team has closed over 3,000 constituent cases and returned over $4 million directly to constituents.\n\nThe second Constituent Resource Fair included representatives from Senator Shaneka Henson\u2019s Office, the Office of the Comptroller of Maryland, the Maryland Insurance Administration, the Maryland Department of Labor, the Maryland Department of Veterans & Military Families, the Maryland Department of Housing & Community Development, the Anne Arundel County Community Action Agency, the American Kidney Foundation, Comcast, the City of Annapolis - No Harm, the City of Annapolis - Hispanic Community Services, the City of Annapolis - Naptown Anti-dope Move(meant), BGE, Chamber of Mothers, the Housing Commission of Anne Arundel County, American Red Cross, the Anne Arundel County Mental Health Agency/Crisis Response System, the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities, the Anne Arundel County Office of Community Engagement & Constituent Services, the Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works, the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation, Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks, HealthCare Access Maryland, Anne Arundel County\u2019s Sheriff Office, the Chief Administrative Office - Office of Talent and Development, and the Chesapeake Children\u2019s Museum.\n\n\u201cGood governance is about solving problems regardless of which agency's logo is on the door,\u201d said Mayor Jared Littmann. \u201cWe're pleased to work with Congresswoman Elfreth to deliver results and one-stop shopping for resources across local, state, and federal agencies.\u201d\n\n\u201cToo often, the biggest barrier between someone and the help they need isn\u2019t a lack of resources-it\u2019s a lack of information.
