Since 2016, Congressman Emmer\u2019s office has hosted the YWLP with the goal of connecting high-school-aged female students in the Sixth Congressional District with local women leaders for guidance and mentorship.\n\nThe first session was focused on leading and operating as a team under pressure and featured remarks from:\n\nCommander Lori Ellering, St. Cloud Police Department\n\nOfficer Debora Ocloo, St. Cloud Police Department\n\nOfficer Lauren Weisser, St. Cloud Police Department\n\nFire Chief Judy Thill, Inver Grove Heights Fire Department\n\nAssistant Fire Chief Jenell Wood, Richfield Fire Department\n\nMarcia Anderson, EMT at M Health Fairview and Minnesota Ambulance Association Star of Life Recipient (Retired)\n\nRose Pelzel, America\u2019s first female EMT and American Ambulance Association Star of Life Recipient (Retired)\n\n\u201cWe are excited to kick off this year\u2019s Young Women\u2019s Leadership Program in St. Cloud. The program focused on helping students lead in crises and work with a team, all useful skills for the classroom, extracurriculars, and future careers,\u201d Emmer said.\n\n\u201cThanks to our guests for their involvement in this outstanding program and to the St. Cloud Police Department for hosting,\u201d Emmer concluded.\n\nThis was the first of three sessions that will take place during the 2023 Young Women\u2019s Leadership Program.
