You can read the letter in its entirety here.\n\nThe effort comes in response to reports Congressman Emmer's office has received about delays in signing death certificates for Minnesota veterans who died of natural causes. These delays, lasting up to eight weeks in some cases, cause significant distress for families, as veterans cannot be buried without a signed death certificate.\n\nCongressman Emmer successfully advocated for similar language to be included in the Fiscal Year 2025 MilConVA appropriations bill. The FY2025 MilConVA Appropriations bill passed the House of Representatives but failed to receive a vote in the United States Senate.\n\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-07T01:08:28Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://emmer.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/emmer-s-provision-to-support-grieving-military-families-passes-the-house-of-representatives"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.138507854193449, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
