Our domestic oil and natural gas reserves are important components of an all-of-the-above energy portfolio that will reduce costs for consumers, improve the reliability of our energy supply, and make our country energy independent once again.\u201d\n\nBackground:\n\nMinnesotans use approximately 450 billion cubic feet of natural gas annually, heating two out of every three homes in the state. Minnesota also serves as an important corridor for the transportation of natural gas from western states and Canada to reach customers in the eastern United States.
