Estes. \"Instead of repairing a broken process and focusing on legal immigration, today's vote is essentially Biden's stimulus package for the cartels.\"\n\nTwo important measures removed by the Biden administration which had slowed illegal crossings under President Trump were:\n\nthe Migrant Protection Protocols (made asylum seekers wait in Mexico for a hearing before entering the US), and\n\nasylum agreements with countries in Central America that required migrants to claim asylum in the first safe country they entered.\n\nRon Estes is a 5th generation Kansan and represents Kansas\u2019 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
