The bill passed the House with unanimous support. This effort is part of a delegation-wide initiative, with Senators Cramer and Hoeven introducing the companion bill in the U.S. Senate.\n\nBelow are her remarks as prepared for delivery:\n\nMr./Madam Speaker,\n\nI rise today to honor a true North Dakota hero from Casselton, North Dakota\u2014Commander Delbert Austin Olson.\n\nCommander Olson answered the call of duty not once, not twice, but across three major conflicts\u2014World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.\n\nIn Vietnam, he served with distinction, participating in some of the most dangerous missions of the war.\n\nHe flew low over the Ho Chi Minh Trail to gather intelligence that protected American service members on the ground.\n\nOn January 11, 1968, Commander Olson and his crew were killed in action when their plane went down.\n\nHis name is etched on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, and today we take another step to make sure future generations know his story.\n\nMy legislation will rename the Casselton Post Office as the Commander Delbert Austin Olson Post Office.\n\nThis is a small way to show how much we value his sacrifice, and to make sure his story lives on in the town he loved.\n\nNorth Dakota does not forget its heroes.\n\nCommander Olson\u2019s life reminds us of the quiet strength and devotion that define the very best of this country.\n\nI\u2019m proud to bring this bill forward, and I urge my colleagues to join me in honoring Commander Olson\u2019s remarkable service and sacrifice.\n\nCLICK HERE to watch the full speech.", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-06T20:09:11Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://fedorchak.house.gov/media/press-releases/fedorchak-legislation-rename-casselton-post-office-after-commander-olson"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.6806130297482014, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
