This Continuing Resolution (CR) is a short-term funding measure that prevents a government shutdown on October 1, 2025, and keeps federal operations running at current funding levels through November 21, 2025.\n\n\u201cWhile Continuing Resolutions aren\u2019t long-term solutions, they are necessary to avoid costly government shutdowns that disrupt government services and impact seniors, farmers, veterans, and working families,\u201d Fedorchak said. \u201cToday\u2019s CR allows us to continue FY26 appropriations negotiations as we return to budgeting through regular order.\u201d\n\nImage\n\nThe CR passed with 212 Democrats\u2014all but one House Democrat\u2014voting to shut down the government. \u201cThere\u2019s no rational reason for Democrats to oppose a CR that maintains funding levels they\u2019ve already supported. A vote to shut down the government is a vote to force our troops, border patrol, TSA agents, air traffic controllers, and federal law enforcement to work without pay,\u201d Fedorchak added.\n\nThe Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2026:\n\nContinues government funding at current levels through November 21, 2025, or the enactment of an applicable full-year appropriations act, whichever occurs first.\n\nAllows the Department of Agriculture to continue providing food assistance to low-income women, infants, and children for the duration of the CR.\n\nProvides the Department of Defense with authorities to fund the Virginia Class Submarine Program.\n\nExtends the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act, set to expire on September 30th, through the duration of the CR.\n\nExtends the authorization for the Department of Homeland Security to mitigate the threat that unmanned aerial systems pose to the security of facilities or assets.\n\nExtends programs at the Department of Veterans Affairs to ensure our veterans continue to receive the care and benefits they have earned.\n\nExtends expiring health care programs through the duration of the CR, including community health centers and other public health programs, payments to rural and underserved hospitals, and Medicare telehealth flexibilities.\n\nCarries forward extensions of programs included in previous continuing resolutions, including Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and the National Flood Insurance Program.", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-06T19:10:29Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://fedorchak.house.gov/media/press-releases/fedorchak-votes-keep-government-open"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.792972045019269, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
