Res. 668, which directs the House Oversight Committee to obtain and publicly release key documents related to Jeffrey Epstein\u2019s crimes, detention, and death.\n\n\u201cThis case has spanned three decades without full accountability,\u201d Fedorchak said. \u201cThe American people\u2014and especially Epstein\u2019s victims\u2014deserve transparency and justice. That\u2019s why I voted for this measure which takes effect immediately and continues and expands the Oversight Committee\u2019s work. This is the fastest way to bring forward essential information and witnesses who must be held accountable for the terrible abuses in this case.\u201d\n\nSpecifically, Fedorchak voted for the Oversight Committee to obtain and release:\n\nAll unclassified records related to Epstein\u2019s detention and death;\n\nFlight logs of aircraft owned or used by Epstein;\n\nNames of individuals connected to Epstein\u2019s criminal activities, settlements, or immunity agreements;\n\nEpstein\u2019s and his associates\u2019 plea bargains, immunity deals, or sealed settlements;\n\nRecords of entities tied to Epstein\u2019s trafficking or financial networks;\n\nInternal Department of Justice communications about Epstein-related investigations or prosecutions.\n\nTo protect victims and sensitive information, H. Res. 668 allows redactions only in limited cases, such as to remove victims\u2019 personally identifiable information, child sexual abuse materials, classified intelligence, or details that could compromise an active federal investigation. Records cannot be withheld for reasons of embarrassment, reputational harm, or political sensitivity.\n\nUnlike Reps. Massie and Khanna\u2019s proposal, H. Res. 668 includes a binding subpoena with the force of law and does not require Senate passage or presidential signature. Its provisions take effect immediately. The Oversight Committee has already begun this work, receiving nearly 34,000 pages from the Department of Justice, issuing 11 deposition notices to former government officials, and requesting Epstein and Maxwell\u2019s bank records from the Treasury Department.\n\nThe resolution also directs the Committee to investigate:\n\nThe federal government\u2019s possible mismanagement of the Epstein and Maxwell cases;\n\nThe circumstances of Epstein\u2019s death;\n\nThe federal government\u2019s broader efforts to combat sex trafficking networks.", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-06T19:10:29Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://fedorchak.house.gov/media/press-releases/fedorchak-votes-transparency-epstein-case"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.7941499352455139, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
