The legislation will modernize America\u2019s transmission system by requiring the use of best-available transmission conductors for new and rebuilt interstate transmission lines. The House Energy and Commerce Committee advanced the bill unanimously in July 2026 by a 49-0 vote.\n\n\"America's electricity demand is growing at the fastest pace in decades.
