These missiles form a critical layer of America\u2019s defense posture, providing a powerful deterrent against global adversaries. Julie also discussed the ongoing modernization of the base\u2019s infrastructure, including the upcoming Sentinel program, which will extend the viability of the existing ICBM fleet well into the 21st century. This investment in next-generation capabilities is essential for maintaining a credible deterrent in an increasingly complex global security environment.\n\nJulie also got an up-close look at one of the Air Force\u2019s most iconic workhorses\u2014a B-52 Bomber. From its massive wingspan to its storied combat history, this aircraft remains a cornerstone of America\u2019s strategic bomber fleet. The B-52 carries the Air-Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM) which can strike targets over 1,500 miles away with pinpoint accuracy\u2014an essential component of the nation\u2019s long-range deterrent.\n\nJulie concluded her visit with the Security Forces Group, where she toured a Minuteman III ICBM silo\u2014the backbone of America\u2019s land-based nuclear deterrent.
