Is this how we choose to honor their sacrifice, by brandishing our own military forces against them to pressure compliance?\u201d\n\nDuring his address at the World Economic Forum, President Trump suggested that without the United States, allied nations would not survive\u2014an assertion Rep. Fields called \"a dangerous claim, not diplomacy.\" The President also referenced using \"excessive strength and force\" regarding Greenland, while criticizing NATO allies who have stood with America through decades of shared security challenges.\n\n\"Here is what the President refuses to acknowledge: the 1951 Defense Agreement with Denmark\u2014updated as recently as 2004\u2014already grants the United States extensive military access to Greenland,\" Rep. Fields continued. \"We can build bases, operate facilities, and address any legitimate security concern through existing agreements. Danish officials have repeatedly expressed willingness to negotiate.
