To keep up with rising costs and ensure consistent coverage for eligible veterans\u2019 families, this legislation raises the fixed burial and funeral expense payment from $2,000 to $3,000.\n\n\u201cThe families of our fallen servicemembers and veterans suffer greatly when losing a loved one due to injuries sustained in defense of our great nation,\u201d said Rep. Finstad. \u201cI am proud to introduce legislation that helps their legacy live on by ensuring veterans\u2019 families can cover the cost of funerals and burials for their loved ones who have died from service-connected disabilities.\u201d\n\n\u201cEvery veteran who serves our country deserves to be laid to rest honorably. This bipartisan legislation would increase burial and funeral service benefits for the families of veterans who have passed from a service-connected disability.
