They retain control of the House, Senate, and Presidency but waited until the 11th hour to jam through this resolution, a completely inexcusable result. This spending bill also included unacceptable provisions that would grant blanket entitlement benefits to Afghan refugees and give authority over the Afghan vetting process to the Secretary of Homeland Security, who to date has overseen at best a rushed and incomplete vetting process. I’ve had the opportunity to visit Fort McCoy and as we’ve seen in recent news, unfortunately this process isn’t going as smoothly as this Administration would like you to believe.”

###

Congressman Scott Fitzgerald was sworn in to the 117th Congress on January 3, 2021 and is proud to represent Wisconsin’s Fifth Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives.", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-06T20:17:01Z
url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at
url
https://fitzgerald.house.gov/media/press-releases/fitzgerald-statement-continuing-resolution
