The event featured VA Houston Deputy Medical Director Lindsey Crain, MHA, FACHE; Combined Arms Texas Veterans Network Executive Director Mia Garcia; and City of Houston Office of Veterans and Military Affairs Director Robert Dembo III, USN.\n\n\u201cHouston is home to one of the largest military veteran populations in the country and we have a duty to serve our veteran community,\u201d said Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher. \u201cI was glad to convene this town hall and provide support for veterans and their families. I am so grateful for the work of our panelists, and I look forward to continuing to work together to honor veterans\u2019 contributions to our country.\u201d\n\nIn September, Congresswoman Fletcher\u2019s bill, the Advancing Uniform Transportation Opportunities (AUTO) for Veterans Act, H.R. 3004, passed the House. This bill expands the eligibility for disabled veterans to obtain vehicles modified for their disabilities.\n\nEarlier this year, she voted for the Honoring Our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act, H.R. 3967, to ensure and expand benefits for all veterans who have been exposed to toxic substances.
