The act would add new transparency and accountability to federal financial regulators when they negotiate international agreements.\n\n\u201cDecisions made by international regulators can have profound effects on American businesses in their relevant fields,\u201d said Congressman Flood. \u201cIt\u2019s time international engagement by American regulators be subject to the same kind of scrutiny they get when they issue a new regulation back home. This act helps do just that by providing more transparency around how American regulators participate in global policymaking.\u201d\n\nPrior to entering an international agreement, the bill would require financial regulators to:\n\nProvide written notification to Congress and the public containing information on the purpose, scope, and anticipated impact of negotiations.\n\nReport to Congress on the formulation of American positions before international regulatory bodies.\n\nNotify the public of the proposed agreement and allow for a minimum of 60 days for the public to comment on the agreement.\n\nBrief Members of Congress on the status and progress of international regulatory negotiations periodically, and post summaries of any meetings with an international financial organization publicly.", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-08T00:18:03Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://flood.house.gov/media/press-releases/congressman-flood-introduces-international-regulatory-transparency-and"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.6818870790302753, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
