Foxx\n\nMocksville Boy Scout John Woodard III traveled to Washington, D.C. with his parents John Sr. and Joan to visit Representative Virginia Foxx (R-NC) at the United States Capitol and earn his Boy Scout \u201cCitizenship in the Nation\u201d merit badge.\n\nRepresentative Virginia Foxx, John Woodard Sr., Joan Woodard, Boy Scout John Woodard III, and House Speaker John Boehner (Photo Attached, High Resolution Available Upon Request)\n\n\u201cI am very proud of John and the initiative he showed in coming to our nation\u2019s capitol to see our republic at work,\u201d Representative Foxx stated. \u201cIt takes a tremendous amount of commitment to become an Eagle Scout, and I have no doubt that John possesses the discipline and determination needed to reach the Scouts\u2019 highest rank.\u201d\n\n\u201cThank you to Representative Foxx for being so kind,\u201d John added. \u201cI appreciate this wonderful opportunity and learned so much.\u201d\n\nJohn accompanied Representative Foxx on the floor of the House of Representatives for legislative debate and official votes. Representative Foxx also arranged a meeting for John and his parents with House Speaker John Boehner, who took a photo with the family and signed a memento for John.\n\nThe \u201cCitizenship in the Nation\u201d merit badge is one of 21 that must be earned for a Scout to achieve the rank of Eagle.
