This bipartisan, bicameral negotiated bill includes key provisions to strengthen America’s security and meet the needs of our servicemembers.

“This National Defense Authorization Act is a big win for our men and women in uniform,” said Rep. Frankel. “This bipartisan bill modernizes our defenses, strengthens our national security, and provides a pay raise for members of the military. It acknowledges the importance of family by improving paid leave and increasing access to child care. It takes the decision to prosecute a sexual assault case out of the chain of command, better protecting survivors and holding perpetrators accountable. This NDAA also includes a historic acknowledgement of the importance of women’s participation in peace and security efforts to advance gender equality around the world.”

The National Defense Authorization Act passed the House by a vote of 363 to 70 and will go to the Senate for final approval.
