Lois Frankel (FL-22) released the following statement after Palm Beach County and several cities received grants from the Department of Justice (DOJ) to strengthen public safety, prevent crime, and improve the local criminal justice system.\n\n\u201cKeeping our communities safe is paramount,\u201d said Rep. Frankel. \u201cThese grants will provide local officials with the resources they need to strengthen our public safety, reduce and prevent crime, and aid re-entry efforts for individuals released from incarceration.\u201d\n\nThe funding was awarded through the DOJ\u2019s Justice Assistance Grant Program and includes the following initiatives:\n\nA community-based re-entry initiative for individuals returning from prison sentences, in partnership between The Lord\u2019s Place and Palm Beach County;\n\nA Holiday Robbery and Burglary Task Force in Delray Beach, designed to reduce crime during the holiday season through high-visibility patrols and updated community policing strategies;\n\nPolice e-bikes in West Palm Beach to improve officer safety and response times;\n\nInstallation of security cameras in Greenacres to detect and deter crime;\n\nUpgraded equipment for the Palm Springs Police Department;\n\nAn Out-of-School Literacy Program Specialist in Lake Worth Beach to foster positive relationships and improve educational opportunities for at-risk youth;\n\nSecurity cameras and equipment in Boynton Beach to improve crime prevention initiatives through the city\u2019s Real Time Crime Center (RTCC); and\n\nCrime investigation software in Boca Raton to improve public safety.\n\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-07T22:13:55Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://frankel.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=3765"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 4.060929641127586, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
