Fudge (OH-11) supported passage in the House of Representatives of the National Apprenticeship Act of 2020 (H.R. 8294). The bill invests $3.5 billion over five years to create nearly 1 million new apprenticeship opportunities. It includes the Expanding Opportunity through Pre-Apprenticeships Act (H.R. 8339), legislation introducedby Rep. Fudge to expand participation in pre-apprenticeship programs for underrepresented populations and individuals with barriers to employment.\r\n\r\n\tWith millions of Americans out of work through no fault of their own, there has never been a more important time to invest in programs that create good-paying jobs, said Rep. Fudge. Registered Apprenticeships connect workers with paid, on-the-job training in preparation for careers in high skilled, in-demand industries. By expanding apprenticeship opportunities, Congress recognizes the importance of not only building our workforce back stronger, but also preparing workers for jobs of the future.
