This common-sense legislation will deliver that much-needed transparency by requiring manufacturers to clearly communicate to customers whether their product transmits photographed, filmed, or recorded data.\u201d\n\nCongressman Moulton said:\n\n\u201cWe should be allowed to make informed decisions about the electronic eavesdroppers we invite into our homes. Let\u2019s pass this bipartisan bill so consumers know when big tech is listening in.\u201d\n\nThe legislation would not apply to mobile phones, laptops, or other devices that a consumer would reasonably expect to include a camera or microphone.\n\nThe Senate companion of this bill was introduced by Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Ted Cruz, R-Texas, Ranking Member Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., and Sen.
