I\u2019m proud to co-sponsor this legislation to help offset those losses and provide local governments with the resources they need to support their communities.\u201d\n\nBackground:\n\nFirst enacted in 2000, the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act (SRS) provides funding for schools, roads, and essential services in counties with significant amounts of tax-exempt federal land.\n\nIn 2023, Idaho received the third-highest SRS funding total in the nation, only behind California and Oregon.\n\nH.R. 1383 would reauthorize SRS payments through FY2026, ensuring continued support for rural counties that rely on this funding. Without reauthorization, these critical payments will expire, leaving many counties struggling to fund schools, road maintenance, and emergency services.\n\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-07T00:15:27Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://fulcher.house.gov/2025/03/19/id-8d426361-4116-4d48-8b09-092d7bad526b/"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.6309591010212898, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
