The legislation also extends the program's authorization through 2031 and further strengthens collaboration between the federal government and private industry to identify, analyze, and respond to emerging threats targeting the nation's energy systems.

“As an Army combat veteran and former cop, I know firsthand how critical information-sharing is to protecting our nation and the energy systems Americans rely on every day. Today's bipartisan House passage is a major step toward ensuring the Department of Energy can continue these vital public-private partnerships that help defend our critical infrastructure from cyber adversaries. I'm especially proud that Colorado's own National Lab of the Rockies is leading this effort. This investment will add new jobs, conduct cutting-edge research, and focus on real-world cybersecurity threat assessments to help keep America ahead of emerging threats while reinforcing Colorado's role as a national leader in energy innovation and security. I look forward to working with my Senate colleagues to get this bill across the finish line and to the President's desk.” — Congressman Gabe Evans (CO-08)

“As threats to our nation’s energy infrastructure grow more frequent and more complex, it’s essential that we strengthen our grid’s security in order to keep our communities safe. These four bills provide critical solutions to help us meet the challenges we face. By strengthening our security planning, ensuring the Department of Energy has the leadership necessary to confront threats, providing utilities with the tools necessary to protect the grid, and supporting increased collaboration between grid operators and the federal government, we can stay ahead of adversaries and ensure reliable, secure energy for American families and businesses.” — Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Brett Guthrie (KY-2)

“Cyberattacks on our energy infrastructure are a direct threat to families, small businesses and communities that rely on affordable, reliable power every day. Our electric grid underpins every part of our economy — from health care and transportation to water systems and communications. This bipartisan bill strengthens public-private cooperation, helps keep the lights on and protects hardworking families from the higher costs that come when critical infrastructure is disrupted.” — Rep. Kathy Castor (FL-14)

The Energy Threat Analysis Center Act strengthens America's energy security by:

Reauthorizing $10 million annually for the Energy Threat Analysis Center through 2031, ensuring continued operational support for energy sector cybersecurity and resilience.

Renewing Colorado's leadership in the public-private partnership between the Department of Energy (DoE), the National Lab of the Rockies, electric utilities—including Xcel Energy, and TriState —and other energy partners to conduct real-world threat assessments and strengthen critical infrastructure.

Countering cyber threats from foreign adversaries, including Chinese Communist Party-backed hacking groups such as Volt Typhoon and Salt Typhoon, which have targeted critical U.S. infrastructure.

Enhancing information-sharing between government agencies, utilities, law enforcement, and private industry to identify, prevent, and respond to cyber threats before they disrupt America's energy systems.", 1, "2026-07-01T06:34:07Z", "2026-07-01T06:35:35Z
url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at
url
https://gabeevans.house.gov/media/press-releases/congressman-gabe-evans-bipartisan-energy-threat-analysis-center-act-passes-us
