The amendment requires the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment to join an independent review of the infiltration and implications of non-domestic manufacturing equipment and software programs supplying to the U.S. defense industrial base. Currently, members of the US military-industrial supply chain rely on equipment and software that originates from places like China and Russia, allowing for potential backdoors into defense supply chains.

“As a veteran I know firsthand the importance of prioritizing America’s strong military presence across the globe. This National Defense Authorization Act restores America’s military superiority, ends virtue signaling programs like DEI that endanger our troops by detracting from perishable warfighting skills, and shifts the focus back where it belongs — our service members and national security.
