Garbarino (R-NY-02) joined Long Island families, local law enforcement, first responders, and community organizations for the Fifth Annual Back-to-School Event in Bay Shore, helping local students get ready for the start of the new school year.\n\nMore than 1,000 children and their families participated in this year\u2019s event, where students received new backpacks, school supplies, and books, and families connected with local organizations and community resources.\n\nThe event also gave children the opportunity to meet the law enforcement officers and first responders who serve their communities every day, including through Suffolk County Police K-9 demonstrations and Emergency Service Section displays.\n\n\u201cThere\u2019s no better way to kick off the school year than bringing families together and making sure kids are ready for the first day,\u201d said Congressman Garbarino. \u201cI\u2019m proud to support this event and grateful to our law enforcement officers, first responders, community organizations, and everyone who steps up each year to make it possible. I want to wish every Long Island student, teacher, and family a safe and successful school year.\u201d\n\n\u201cEvery child deserves to start the school year feeling prepared and confident.
