Their service and sacrifice for our country as well as their continued dedication to improving our communities merit special recognition in Congress,\u201d Gianforte said. \u201cOn behalf of all Montanans, I thank them for their selfless service to country and community.\u201d\nGianforte created the annual Montana Congressional Veteran Commendation in 2017 to recognize outstanding Montana veterans who have honorably served our nation and our communities. In October, Gianforte asked Montanans to help him identify nominees for the award.
