To be considered for an appointment to a service academy, applicants must be nominated by an authorized nominating source, which includes Members of Congress.\n\n\u201cI\u2019m proud to nominate this exceptional group of young Mainers to offer their many talents in service of this nation. It is an honor to play a small role in the journey of these accomplished students,\u201d said Golden.\n\nThe nominees were interviewed by a panel on their academic record, test scores, leadership ability, involvement in extracurricular activities, and exemplified commitment to serving their country.\n\nThe full list of nominations is below.
