Golden nominated nine young Mainers from across the state, all of whom were interviewed by a panel of veterans to learn more about their academic record, test scores, leadership ability, involvement in extracurricular activities and commitment to serving their country.\n\n\u201cAs a veteran, it\u2019s my honor to be in a position to nominate the next generation of military leaders,\u201d Golden said. \u201cThis group of nominees are the best of what Maine has to offer, and I look forward to their future success.\u201d\n\nGolden nominated the following students:\n\nBangor High School:\n\nJacob S.
