Golden", "G000592", "golden.house.gov", "golden", "https://golden.house.gov/media/press-releases", "scraper", "WASHINGTON \u2014 Congressman Jared Golden (ME-02) released the following statement regarding the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission\u2019s (ASMFC) recent decision to allow Maine fisherman to haul 58,400 pounds of shrimp this winter as part of a survey program to help determine the future of the fishery, which has been closed for 10 years:\n\n\u201cThe men and women who work on the water every day are the most committed stewards of our ocean resources, whose expertise should be respected \u2014 not ignored,\u201d Golden said. \u201cToday\u2019s decision by ASMFC to launch an industry-based survey of the shrimp fishery in the Gulf of Maine, and to allocate stock to that survey, is great news for Maine\u2019s working waterfronts.
