The bill passed the House by a vote of 427-1.\n\nToday\u2019s vote was forced by a discharge petition signed by Golden and a majority of the House after months of resistance from President Trump and House Republican leaders.\n\n\u201cThese files should obviously be released. And it never should have been this hard,\u201d Golden said.\n\nThe Epstein Files Transparency Act mandates the Department of Justice to publish a searchable, downloadable compilation of all its files on Epstein within 30 days. Within 15 days, the Department must report to Congress on any information redacted to protect victims\u2019 personal information and active federal investigations.\n\nGolden has long called for the release of the Epstein files as a means of transparency and accountability.
