This resolution follows the introduction of H.R. 6211 by Congressman Ryan Zinke \u2013 legislation that has been promoted as an effort to \u201cExpel Palestinians from the United States.\u201d\n\n\u201cCalls to expel Palestinians from the United States are racist, xenophobic and have no place in the government of the United States,\" Congressman Dan Goldman said. \"We cannot stand for rhetoric that fans the flames of hate in this nation. The anti-American proposal to expel an entire people from this country must be condemned.\u201d\n\nCongressman Greg Landsman said, \u201cThey\u2019re trying to expel an entire community of people from the United States. It\u2019s un-American. It\u2019s not who we are. And it\u2019s going to get people hurt. We need these folks to pull back on this dangerous rhetoric and to stop adding fuel to this fire. It\u2019s not helping the Israelis, it\u2019s certainly not helping the Palestinians, it\u2019s absolutely undercutting our role in pursuing peace and stability in the region and here at home.\u201d\n\nThe resolution reads, in part:\n\n\u201cWhereas this rhetoric calls for the removal of an entire people from our nation . . . [U]nfairly and dangerously conflates Palestinians with Hamas and its actions . . . [I]mplies immigrants are a danger to America \u2013 ignoring our nation\u2019s long history of welcoming people of all faiths and backgrounds . . .
