W. Bush, the first and only President of the United States to express in his first message to Congress his support for Statehood for Puerto Rico.\nNaval aviator, businessman, public official, diplomat, elected official. George H. W. Bush, defended the true core values that remain: Freedom, Legality, Family, but always, always, asking for the construction of a \"kinder, gentler Nation\", where a Thousand Points of Light, will shine from each community .\nHe got involved with Puerto Rico from our first Republican primary, in which he triumphed in 1980, and once president, issued the Memorandum for the agencies to treat Puerto Rico as a state. During his presidency, the process of decolonization was advanced in Congress as never before in our history. It is now duty to honor his memory upon reaching statehood.\nHis last evident demonstration of solidarity with our people was seen after the impact of hurricanes Irma and Mara in Puerto Rico, when he joined all the other former presidents of the Nation to raise funds and request aid for Puerto Rico and other affected jurisdictions.\nI had the opportunity to meet him early in my life as part of the public service and I still remember the impact that former President Bush caused me; he, a veteran fighter, was an inspiration to one that was just starting.\nMy condolences to the entire Bush family, their children, grandchildren and other relatives. Rest In Peace\".\n###\n\n \n Expresiones de la comisionada residente Jenniffer Gonzlez sobre fallecimiento del expresidente George H. W. Bush \n1 de diciembre de 2018, Washington, D.
