Goodlander served as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy Reserve for more than a decade and also serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Small Business Committee.\n\n\u201cWe make a sacred promise to every American who serves: when they come home, the care and benefits they earned will be there for them. Morgan Luttrell (R-TX-08).\n\nThe Health Subcommittee oversees the Veterans Health Administration, including veterans\u2019 medical services, facilities, research, and construction. The Technology Modernization Subcommittee oversees the Department of Veterans Affairs\u2019 technology programs, cybersecurity, data management, and electronic health record system.\n\nBACKGROUND ON GOODLANDER\u2019S ADVOCACY FOR VETERANS, SERVICEMEMBERS, AND MILITARY FAMILIES\n\nExpanding veterans\u2019 health care in New Hampshire: Goodlander helped introduce the Veterans Full-Service Care and Access Act to bring a full-service VA medical center to New Hampshire. She also successfully fought for House passage of a bipartisan amendment advancing that mission and helped pass an amendment supporting robust funding for upgrades at the Manchester VA Medical Center.\n\nBringing care closer to veterans: Following sustained advocacy by New Hampshire\u2019s congressional delegation, Goodlander welcomed the VA\u2019s new community-based outpatient clinic in West Chesterfield that will expand veterans\u2019 access to primary care, mental health care, specialty care, and other services in the Monadnock Region.\n\nImproving veterans\u2019 health and independence: Goodlander helped usher the Aviator Cancers Examination Study (ACES) Act into law to improve understanding of cancer risks among military aviators and aircrew. She also helps lead the bipartisan Automotive Support Services to Improve Safe Transportation (ASSIST) Act of 2025, which would help disabled veterans obtain medically necessary vehicle adaptations.\n\nDemanding accountability from the VA: Goodlander has demanded answers about VA workforce losses and their effect on care at the Manchester VA Medical Center and other facilities serving New Hampshire veterans.\n\nStanding up for servicemembers, military families, and the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard: Goodlander has led bipartisan legislation to strengthen military readiness and protect America\u2019s public shipyard workforce, including protections against hiring freezes and unjustified workforce reductions.
