Grijalva released the following statement today following the Bureau of Reclamation\u2019s record of decision on guidelines for 2027\u20132028 Colorado River operations:\n\n\u201cWhile I am glad that the Department of the Interior took into account the Lower Basin states\u2019 proposal for voluntary reductions in the short term, we still need a permanent solution that ensures Arizonans do not bear a disproportionate burden of water cuts. For that to happen, we need all seven Colorado River Basin states to cooperate\u2014plain and simple. said Rep. Grijalva\n\n\u201cOnly an equitable, seven-state approach will put the Colorado River on a sustainable path, prevent dangerously low reservoir levels, and protect this critical resource for generations to come.
